Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a world-class midfielder this summer, and now the 27-year-old appears to be the ideal option on bringing to the Emirates.
Spanish sources have reported that the North London side have made an opening bid in the region of £24.4million for the Spain international.
However, the above bid is set to be rejected by the La Liga champions, with Blaugrana reluctant to let one of their star players to leave Camp Nou.
Wenger sees Busquets as the ideal player at the Emirates, who is able to tackle and release the ball in front of the back four.
The defensive midfielder has made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, helping the Catalans won the treble.
Busquets has played a crucial role in the “Barca’s treble success last season. His unique style of play in the midfield would provide a better option in Gunner’s midfield given the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, which would help the North Londoners capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
