Liverpool Keen on former Red Defender Antonio Barragan

Brendan Rodgers could make a summer move to re-sign former Liverpool defender Antonio Barragan, according to reports from Spanish website Fichajes.net

The Spaniard joined Liverpool in 2005 and made only one appearance for the club during a Champions League qualifier against CSKA Sofia.

After spending a short career in Anfield, the 26-year-old moved to La Liga club Deportivo de La Coruna in 2006 and then moved to Real Valladolid in 2009 before finding his way to current club Valencia in 2011 for €1.5m.

Barragan’s recent performances as a right back with Los Che, alerted Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who is keen to bring him back to Anfield, with the Reds are desperate to bolster their defence department this summer.

The Former Spain U21 international is capable of playing both in a defensive and attacking role, whose current contract is valid until 2015 at Mestalla.

Move to Anfield, will be a good decision for Barragan as he would get a chance to play their second Champions League fixture for the Reds next season.
