Liverpool are ready to give a stiff competition to Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of highly-rated Argentina striker Lucas Alario, who is also wanted by the Italian clubs Inter Milan and Torino.
The 23-year-old has been dubbed as the hottest property in South America after appearing in the Club World Cup final in 2015 and over the past years the player helped to fire River Plate to Copa Libertadores glory.
He has also won two senior caps for his nation, and is thought to be the subject of interest from Premier League football.
Spurs have previously been linked with a move to sign the forward, via the London Evening Standard, and had been tipped the favourites for his services.
However, the Sun now claims that Liverpool are ready to make a move for the talented striker, who has a release clause worth £15.2 million.
The latest report also adds interest from Serie A outfits Inter Milan and Torino, and the Premier League duo may have to prepare themselves for a competitive battle if they are serious about the Argentine.
