Manchester City: Stevan Jovetic and Fernando ruled out through injury

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic will be sidelined for tomorrow’s showdown at Arsenal with a hamstring strain, while the summer signing Fernando will also be absent from the action at the Emirates Stadium.

Jovetic, who has impressed with his stellar performance in the early part of the season – suffered a injury while on an international duty with Montenegro, and still the 24-year-old hasn’t recovered ahead of the Arsenal clash at the Emirates.

The Chilean boss Pellegrini has also revealed that Brazilian Fernando will also be sidelined from his squad after the 27-year-old midfielder was ruled out for two weeks after sustaining an injury against Stoke City, that means Fernando will miss the games against Arsenal, Bayern and Chelsea.

“Fernando has a muscle problem and will be out for a couple more weeks,” said Pellegrini. “Stevan Jovetic came back from international duty with a broken hamstring. I hope he will be fit next week. All the rest of our players are fit.”

Elsewhere, there is a good news for City fans – Frank Lampard, Eliaquim Mangala and Pablo Zabaleta, are all been declared fit for the Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to North London.
