Former Germany captain Michael Ballack has taken retirement at the age of 36 from football.

The 36-years-old Ballack, who have also played for Bayern Munich in Bundesliga and for Chelsea in English Premier League.
Ballack started his football career in 1995 and there was rumoured that he might be linked up with clubs in Australia about extending his career. Ballack played in 585 official matches with scoring 145 goals.
His agent Michael Becker, released a statement “At the age of 36, I can look back on a long and wonderful time in professional football, As a child, I could never have even dreamt of having such a career.“
