Watford sign Spurs midfielder Etienne Capoue

Premier League newcomers Watford have secured the services of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Etienne Capoue for a ‘club-record fee’.

The Frenchman joined Tottenham from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse in summer 2013 but struggled to make into a first-team place under Mauricio Pochettino last term, managed to score only two goals in 36 appearances for the north Londoners over the last two seasons.

The 26-year-old has penned a four-year contract with the Hornets in a deal worth £7million – that will keep him at Vicarage Road until the summer of 2019 and the midfielder will be hoping to push for a regular place in the national squad for Euro 2016.
