Barcelona Leading in La Liga after Thrashing Getafe 5-2

Barcelona striker Pedro scored a sensational hat-trick by thrashing Getafe 5-2 and once again returns to the top of the La Liga charts before Christmas and New Year break.

Without the services of star players – suspended Neymar, Injured Xavi Hernandez, Lionel Messi and goalie Victor Valdes, Barca remains at the top of the Primera Division, which is quite commendable for Barca coach Gerardo Martino.

Getafe was leading 2-0 in the first 15 minute of the game, duo defenders – Sergio Escudero and López Gómez gave Stunning start to Azulones.

Pedro’s impressive goals have been one of the brilliant individual performances by any Blaugrana player this season so far.

Barca midfielder Cesc Fabregas scored twice in the second half of the game including a penalty goal.

Now, La Liga championship has a two-week break over the Christmas and New Year, with Spanish clubs returning to action in next year, 4 January.
