Arsenal target Premier League winner N’Golo Kante

The French media outlet France Football claims that Arsenal are weighing up a summer move for French midfielder N’golo Kante.

The newly crowned English Champions Leicester City’s Kante has had an excellent season for Claudio Ranieri’s side and was a key member in the Foxes’ historic Premier League triumph.

The report claims, the Gunners have already held talks with the player in London in a view to complete the deal before the start of the Euro Championship from June 10.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Foxes from Ligue 1 side Caen, has a transfer release clause of £20million in his contract.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the midfielder. He said, “For me,  Kanté is one of the best players of the year in the English football. He is under contract with his current employer, that is Leicester. But I’m sure if the Foxes wants to sell him, they will definitely find the buyers.”

Kante would be a big boost for the north Londoners given the Gunners’ frailties in the middle of the park, with the likes of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini both are heading out of the Emirates.
