Arsenal Exploring Surprise Move for Vinicius Junior
Arsenal’s chase for a marquee left winger has taken a stunning twist — and this time, the target plays for Real Madrid.
Rogers Snub Forces a Rethink
Arsenal have quietly explored a move for Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, according to The Athletic, after missing out on their top target. Mikel Arteta‘s side lost the race for Morgan Rogers when Chelsea hijacked the deal with a club-record £117 million offer, leaving the Gunners needing a superior alternative with Gabriel Martinelli poised to depart. No formal talks have taken place with Madrid, but the idea has been signed off internally at every level of the club.

Madrid’s Contract Stand-Off
The opening exists because Vinicius has entered the final 12 months of his Bernabeu contract, with renewal talks stalled and Los Blancos wary of losing him for free next summer. The 26-year-old Brazilian posted 22 goals and 14 assists in 53 appearances last season and averages almost three successful dribbles a game — numbers that explain why Arsenal see him as a title-winning upgrade. Spanish outlet El Debate has previously suggested £77 million could prise him away, but his wages, already £410,000 a week, could climb past £500,000 and rival Erling Haaland’s. New Real boss Jose Mourinho is also reportedly determined to keep his best players, adding another obstacle.
Verdict
Arsenal have the ambition and, potentially, the funds — but Mourinho’s resistance and Vinicius’ wage demands make this anything but straightforward. Could this really be the summer one of Madrid’s brightest stars swaps the Bernabeu for the Emirates?
