Arsenal Missed Out on Real Madrid Star Arda Guler Despite Strong Summer Window
Arsenal splashed over £250 million this summer to strengthen their squad, landing big names such as Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and Viktor Gyokeres. Yet, despite their transfer success, one target slipped through their fingers — Real Madrid’s rising star Arda Guler.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners made an attempt to lure the 20-year-old Turkish talent to the Emirates, but the move never materialised.
Guler’s Madrid Revival Under Xabi Alonso
Guler endured a difficult debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu under Carlo Ancelotti, struggling for minutes even as Madrid lifted the Champions League. Arsenal had hoped to exploit his situation, but everything changed once Xabi Alonso arrived.

The former Bayer Leverkusen boss has wasted no time in backing Guler, starting him in all three of Madrid’s La Liga fixtures so far. His trust has quickly transformed the midfielder’s prospects in Spain.
What’s Next for Guler?
While Arsenal won’t be returning for Guler anytime soon after securing Eze, Premier League clubs are still expected to monitor the situation. Once Jude Bellingham returns from injury later this month, Guler’s game time could again come under pressure — and that’s when opportunities may open.
Real Madrid previously valued Guler at around £67 million, but with his growing influence, that price tag could easily soar. If another English giant decides to test Madrid’s resolve, Guler could well become one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe.
For now, Arsenal can be content with their summer business, but missing out on Guler could still prove to be one of the stories to watch in future transfer windows.
