Arsenal open talks for Rafael Leao
Arsenal have officially made contact over a potential summer move for Portuguese star Rafael Leao, according to reports from Foot Mercato. The Gunners are eyeing reinforcements on the left wing, and the AC Milan forward has emerged as a fresh target.
With Mikel Arteta eager to inject more flair and goal threat into his front line, Arsenal’s transfer activity has turned toward wide attackers. Leao, despite an inconsistent season, still registered an impressive 25 goal contributions across all competitions—proving he remains a potent force in the final third.

Leao Joins Growing Arsenal Shortlist
Arsenal are known to be pursuing several high-profile names for the left flank. Nico Williams is reportedly a top priority, while links to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens continue to swirl. However, Rodrygo’s hefty wage demands and transfer fee could push Arsenal to explore more viable options.
That’s where Leao comes in. At 24, with Champions League pedigree and explosive pace, he could offer the attacking x-factor Arsenal lacked at times last season. New sporting director Andrea Berta has already initiated contact with the AC Milan star, signalling genuine interest.
While Leao may not yet top the Gunners’ wishlist, his availability and raw talent make him an enticing option. Should his relationship with Milan deteriorate further, Arsenal could be perfectly placed to pounce.
