Chelsea weighing up late move for PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani

Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani before the transfer window closes, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Blues began the season strongly with seven points from their opening three games, but their momentum took a hit with Liam Delap’s injury setback. This has forced the club to reassess their attacking options.

One consideration is halting Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bayern Munich. Jackson’s agent, Ali Barat, is still pushing for the deal to go through and is even exploring a permanent switch. Should that materialise, Chelsea will need reinforcements up front.

Alternatives Under Consideration

Alongside PSG’s Kolo Muani, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, Sporting CP forward Conrad Harder, and a potential recall of Marc Guiu from his loan spell at Sunderland.

Kolo Muani, however, has emerged as a serious option. Although the French international reportedly prefers a move to Juventus, Chelsea are holding internal talks about a late bid.

The 26-year-old endured mixed fortunes in France but revived his form on loan at Juventus, scoring 16 goals across competitions, including two in the Club World Cup. His pace, power, and versatility across the forward line make him well-suited to Enzo Maresca’s tactical approach.

Kolo Muani thrives in transition, combines acceleration with strength, and is capable of unsettling defenders both in the box and on the counter. While his finishing has been questioned at times, his attributes mirror Jackson’s, offering Chelsea a like-for-like option.

A Low-Cost Solution?

Valued at around £26 million by Transfermarkt, Kolo Muani would represent a relatively affordable target compared to other strikers on the market. At this stage, Chelsea’s interest is only exploratory, but with the deadline looming, a late move cannot be ruled out.
