Man City eye Joao Neves as potential Bernardo Silva successor

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a massive €120 million move to sign Portuguese midfield prodigy Joao Neves from Paris Saint-Germain next year.

According to Fichajes, Pep Guardiola has urged the club’s hierarchy to go all out for the 20-year-old, who has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young midfielders in world football. City are ready to test PSG’s resolve with a blockbuster offer, though the French champions are unwilling to entertain any bids.

Joao Neves’ Rise to Stardom

Since arriving from Benfica just over a year ago, Neves has become a vital cog in Luis Enrique’s PSG side. The Tavira-born star has already made more than 50 appearances for the French giants, contributing 10 goals and 10 assists from midfield. His energy, vision, and ability to dictate games have drawn comparisons to some of Europe’s finest playmakers.

Unsurprisingly, his performances have placed him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite, with Manchester City now leading the chase.

A Premier League Move on the Horizon?

City’s interest is partly fuelled by uncertainty surrounding Bernardo Silva’s future. The experienced midfielder is in the final year of his contract and could leave the Etihad after nearly a decade of success. Neves is seen as a natural successor — a player capable of filling Silva’s creative and tactical role in Guardiola’s system.
