Man Utd to table £20m bid for Bayern ace

Manchester United will consider to launch a £20m bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger after failing to secure the services of fellow players Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos, according to reports from Goal.

It is understood that the Man United boss Louis van Gaal has listed the 29-year-old as priority summer target and will soon launch a formal bid for the midfielder in the coming days.

The Germany international, who has an excellent passing and tackling ability, is seen as a key player at the Allianz Arena. He scored four times in 23 league appearances for the Bavarians this term.

The 2012/13 Premier League champions are lacking in the central midfield area, with a move to Old Trafford could provide much needed boost for the Red Devils ahead of next season.

Bayern manager Pep Guardiola may not be willing to sell Schweinsteiger, but it could be tempted if the offer is more than £20m.
