Man Utd Weighing January Move for Brentford Winger Kevin Schade

Old Trafford Interest in Germany Forward

Manchester United are reportedly considering a January bid for Brentford winger Kevin Schade, according to Caught Offside. The Germany international has made a bright start to the campaign, scoring three goals in six appearances across all competitions for the Bees.

Contract Talks Stall at Brentford

Brentford are keen to tie the 24-year-old down to an improved long-term contract. However, the report suggests little progress has been made in negotiations. That uncertainty could make Schade one of the more intriguing names to monitor when the winter window opens, with United thought to be among the clubs weighing up an approach.

Why a Deal Looks Unlikely

Schade operates mainly as a left winger, though he can also lead the line when required. That is a position where United are already well stocked, with Matheus Cunha and Marcus Rashford both available, while Patrick Dorgu can provide cover in a more makeshift role.

Rashford was open to leaving following his loan spell at Barcelona, but no suitable offers arrived during the summer. He remains at Old Trafford and is yet to register a goal or assist this term. Any move for Schade would probably require United to move Rashford on first and clear his considerable wages, which may not happen until the end of the season.

Arsenal Also Monitoring

Arsenal are also admirers of the former Freiburg man. With Christos Tzolis their only specialist left-sided option, Schade would have a genuine opportunity to claim a regular starting place at the Emirates.

Valuation and Fee Expectations

Transfermarkt values Schade at around £30 million, but Brentford are unlikely to accept anything close to that figure. A fee nearer £60 million could be required to prise him away from west London.

Our View

United’s January business will most likely centre on outgoings rather than signings, so a Schade deal feels improbable in the short term. Arsenal look better placed, given the clearer pathway to regular football. Should his form continue, though, Brentford may find it difficult to resist a substantial offer by the summer.
