Neymar’s father confirms Camp Nou stay

The father and agent of Barcelona star Neymar has claimed that his son is likely to stay at Camp Nou, amid speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League outfit Manchester United.

The Red Devils have received a huge blow in their future hopes to secure the services of the 23-year-old striker, who was reportedly ‘interested’ in joining the Manchester United, who were believed to be plotting a big-money swoop next summer.

Despite having Neymar under contract, he still has three years left, the Catalans are thought to be in talks over an extension to his current deal which could see the Brazilian’s release clause to around £200million.

“People can relax, Neymar is staying at Barca,” Neymar Sr. has confirmed to Spanish television station Cuatro.

“We don’t need to reach an agreement with Barca because he has three more years on his contract.”

Neymar enjoyed a successful season for Blaugrana last term, with 39 goals in all competitions and helped the Catalans win the treble – La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League titles.
