Report – Arsenal lead race to sign Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal have emerged as the frontrunners in the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, as the Swedish striker looks set for a summer move. According to A Bola via Sport Witness, the Gunners are currently ahead of the pack, with Manchester City and Liverpool reportedly keeping tabs, though without any concrete movement yet.

Andrea Berta Driving Arsenal’s Gyokeres Pursuit
Newly-appointed sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly a huge admirer of Gyokeres, and he’s pushing hard to bring the 26-year-old to the Emirates. Mikel Arteta is also believed to be keen, viewing the former Coventry City striker as the perfect No.9 to elevate Arsenal’s frontline.
While Gyokeres’ release clause stands at €100 million, it’s expected that Sporting could be open to negotiations for a lower fee—sparking real optimism in north London. Arsenal are actively looking to bolster their attack, and Gyokeres now appears to be their priority target over names like Alexander Isak or Ollie Watkins.
Arsenal Face Competition, but Remain in Pole Position
Manchester United are also in the frame, especially with Ruben Amorim now at Old Trafford, while Chelsea’s past interest could still resurface. However, it’s Arsenal who are said to be making the most decisive moves, with talks potentially set to begin soon.
For Arteta, Gyokeres could be the missing piece—a clinical striker with power, pace, and Premier League potential. If Berta can seal this deal, it might just be Arsenal’s headline signing of the summer.
