Arsenal Eye £30m Move for Brentford Winger Kevin Schade to Boost Attack

Arsenal’s flawless start to the Premier League season came to an abrupt halt as Brighton & Hove Albion ran out 3-0 winners at the Amex Stadium, handing Mikel Arteta’s side their first league defeat of the 2026/27 campaign.

According to Football London, Arsenal have begun weighing up a January approach for Brentford’s Kevin Schade, having taken note of the 24-year-old German’s blistering start to the season. He has already netted three Premier League goals from five appearances.

Schade’s influence stretches well beyond the scoresheet, too. With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard both having departed in the summer, it makes sense that Arsenal are hunting for a ready-made Premier League operator capable of pushing Christos Tzolis for a starting berth.

Why Schade would suit Arteta’s plans

Brentford remain unbeaten through their opening five fixtures, with Schade central to that impressive run, though Arsenal’s admiration could well turn his head towards a move.

Few wingers in the division match his raw pace, and he combines an excellent aerial success rate with direct, purposeful dribbling. Add in a fierce shot, sharp movement in behind defences, and genuine defensive discipline, and it is easy to see the appeal.

Transfermarkt values Schade at around £30 million, though Brentford may hold out for considerably more given his age and ceiling.

For my money, a player of Schade’s profile — proven, versatile and still improving — is exactly the type of addition that could take Arsenal’s title challenge up a notch, especially after their pursuit of another left-sided forward fell through earlier in the year.
