Arsenal are weighing up a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson after Kai Havertz picked up a knee injury, according to TEAMtalk.

Havertz setback leaves Arsenal short up front

The German forward featured off the bench in Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford but has since been ruled out of training. Reports from The Athletic suggest Havertz could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

With Gabriel Jesus still recovering from a serious knee injury, Mikel Arteta suddenly finds himself light in the centre-forward department. Summer signing Viktor Gyokeres was brought in to lead the line, but Arsenal now appear keen to add another option before the window closes.

Jackson emerges as a target

Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson has been highlighted as a potential solution. The 24-year-old Senegal international has slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and Chelsea are reportedly open to his sale for around £60m.

Arsenal’s sporting director is said to be exploring Premier League-proven strikers, with Jackson one of the more attainable names compared to Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, who remains off-limits. Newcastle United are also monitoring Jackson’s situation.

A raw but dangerous talent

Jackson has shown flashes of brilliance in the Premier League. Quick, tireless in his pressing, and capable of producing goals out of very little, he has already delivered 34 goal contributions despite adapting to English football’s demands.

Consistency remains the question mark. On his best days, he can terrorise defences, but there are matches where he still looks rough around the edges. That said, under Arteta’s coaching — much like Havertz’s own revival after his Chelsea struggles — Jackson could prove a shrewd signing.

Could Arsenal pull it off?

With Havertz sidelined and Jesus not yet fully fit, Arsenal’s attacking depth is under real pressure. Whether they move decisively for Jackson or explore other options may well define their ability to compete at the top in the early stages of the season.
