Arsenal Monitoring Inter Milan’s Andy Diouf in Reported £51m Transfer Interest

What Is the Latest on Diouf?

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Inter Milan’s Andy Diouf, according to Caught Offside. The France international joined the Serie A champions from Lens last August and has since become a regular, with Chelsea also said to be watching his progress.

The 23-year-old made 29 appearances last season and has already added five this term, including three assists. He also earned his first two senior France caps recently under Zinedine Zidane.

Price Tag and Contract Situation

Inter hold a strong hand, with Diouf tied down until June 2030. Caught Offside suggest a package between £43m and £51m would be required to open negotiations.

Why a Deal Looks Unlikely

Diouf has flourished at right wing-back since Denzel Dumfries left for Real Madrid, a role Arsenal simply do not use. Mikel Arteta favours a traditional back four, and the Frenchman has no experience at right-back, making him a gamble to replace Ben White.

Midfield offers little incentive either. With Declan Rice, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Bruno Guimaraes, Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi on the books, the Gunners are well stocked. Even if Zubimendi leaves, a major midfield investment seems improbable.

Our Take

This feels more like agent-driven noise than a genuine pursuit. Diouf is clearly a talent on the rise, but the tactical fit at the Emirates is awkward, and Arsenal have more pressing areas to strengthen. Expect Inter to hold firm while the rumour mill keeps turning.
