Arsenal Scouting AIK Wonderkid Kevin Filling in £21m Transfer Move

Arsenal have joined the race for AIK’s rising star Kevin Filling, with the Swedish teenager attracting serious interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, according to a report from CaughtOffside.

Who Is Kevin Filling?

The 17-year-old centre-forward started out at IK Franke before switching to Vasteras SK, the same second-tier Swedish club that once developed former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof. His performances there caught the eye of AIK, who signed him for their academy setup back in 2023.

After a brief loan spell at Enköpings SK, Filling made his senior debut for AIK on 29 June 2025, scoring on his first start as the club beat IFK Göteborg 3-0. He has since become a regular fixture for Sweden at every youth level, from the U15s through to the U19s, and there is growing talk that Graham Potter could soon hand him a senior call-up.

This term, Filling has racked up seven goal involvements despite his tender age, output that has thrust him firmly onto the radar of clubs across the continent.

Arsenal Among Suitors, But Competition Is Fierce

Arsenal’s recruitment team have reportedly travelled to Stockholm multiple times to run the rule over the forward, viewing him as a long-term development prospect rather than an immediate first-team option.

AIK are said to be in no rush to cash in, though a fee between £17m and £21m, potentially structured with add-ons, a sell-on percentage, and a loan-back arrangement, could be enough to get talks moving.

The Gunners will not have things their own way, however, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus all credited with interest in the towering 6ft 1in striker.

Arsenal’s recent record of blooding young talent, having already handed debuts to the likes of Evan Mooney and Axel Donczew, could prove decisive. For a player of Filling’s profile, a genuine pathway to first-team football may carry more weight than a bigger cheque elsewhere.
