Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur to do battle for Matthias Ginter?

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter as a potential summer signing.

The Premier League clubs are continuing to target possible signings ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports News, Gunners and Spurs are both interested in the Germany international as they look to revamp their backlines.

Arsenal have struggled to keep clean sheets all season, while Tottenham may have to replace Toby Alderweireld who has a release clause in his current contract.

Ginter, 25, has enjoyed a strong one-and-a-half year at Monchengladbach with 54 appearances being made in all competitions.

Ginter still has more than two years remaining on his contract, although the Bundesliga outfit can extend that by a further 12 months.
