BVB considering permanent deal for Chelsea loanee Aaron Anselmino

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly prepared to explore a permanent move for Chelsea’s young defender Aaron Anselmino after his season-long loan in Germany.

Dortmund Eyeing Long-Term Future for Anselmino

According to Sport Bild, the Bundesliga giants are impressed by the 20-year-old Argentine and are open to signing him outright if he proves himself during the 2025/26 campaign. Anselmino joined Dortmund on loan this summer after Chelsea decided he would struggle for regular minutes in West London.

While no purchase option was included in the loan agreement, Dortmund are monitoring his development closely and could launch talks with Chelsea should his performances continue to impress.

Anselmino’s Journey from Chelsea to Dortmund

Anselmino is part of Chelsea’s long list of promising young talents signed since the BlueCo takeover, alongside names like Angelo Gabriel and Cesare Casadei. However, unlike some of his peers, the Argentine defender is seen as a genuine candidate to break into Chelsea’s first team in the coming years.

So far, Anselmino has made just one senior appearance for Chelsea. His loan to Dortmund offers him the chance to showcase his ability at a high level, and he has already made a positive impression by completing 76 minutes on his debut for the Black and Yellows.

Chelsea’s Stance Remains Unclear

Despite Dortmund’s interest, Chelsea’s intentions are less certain. The decision not to include a buy option suggests the Blues want to keep control of Anselmino’s future. If the young centre-back excels in Germany, Chelsea may see him as part of their long-term plans rather than sanctioning a permanent sale.

For now, Anselmino’s performances will dictate the next chapter of his career. Dortmund are watching closely—and if he convinces them, a transfer battle with Chelsea could be on the horizon in 2026.
