Chelsea have made their first formal move for Barcelona star Fermin Lopez, submitting a £34.6 million bid for the Spanish midfielder, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues, fresh off their win over Fulham, have turned their full attention to the transfer market as deadline day looms. Enzo Maresca’s side wasted no time after the derby victory, sending in an opening offer for the 22-year-old, who has quickly become one of their top targets.

Chelsea Push for Lopez Deal

Romano reports that Chelsea view Lopez as a priority signing and are ready to push negotiations forward in the coming hours. Barcelona, however, remain hesitant to lose their academy graduate, who played a key role in their treble-winning campaign last season.

The midfielder featured 46 times for La Blaugrana in 2024-25, scoring eight goals and registering nine assists across competitions. His creativity and versatility in attacking midfield make him a strong fit for Chelsea, who are keen to bolster their squad ahead of their Champions League return.
