Manchester United are reportedly the club ‘most interested’ in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Gallagher’s Struggles in Spain

Since leaving Chelsea for Atletico Madrid last year, Gallagher has struggled to cement his place under Diego Simeone. The 25-year-old started just 19 league matches last season and has been limited to only two La Liga starts this term, even being substituted at half-time in one of them.

Frustrated with his lack of opportunities, the England international is now keen on a Premier League return. Several English clubs are keeping tabs on his situation, but Manchester United are emerging as the most serious contenders.

Despite Gallagher’s desire to leave, Atletico are in no rush to sell. The midfielder has four years left on his current contract, giving the Spanish giants a strong negotiating position.
