Liverpool have held early discussions over a potential move for Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, according to TEAMtalk.

The 21-year-old progressed through Inter’s academy but struggled for regular minutes at senior level. A loan spell at FC Luzern helped his development before he sealed a permanent switch to Club Brugge last summer.

Stankovic thrived in Belgium, contributing to 12 goals across 49 appearances in all competitions as Brugge clinched the league title. His progress has also earned him a place in the Serbia national squad.

Impressed by his growth, Inter opted to re-sign him this summer. Reports suggest the son of club legend Dejan Stankovic has drawn interest from several English clubs, with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur previously tracking him before turning their attention elsewhere.

Liverpool are said to have asked about Stankovic’s situation while finalising Curtis Jones’s move to Inter Milan. Despite that connection, the Reds ultimately chose not to pursue a deal at this stage, with the midfield department considered well stocked following Mohamed Salah’s exit.
