Manchester United step up interest in Alex Scott

Manchester United are reportedly heading the queue to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Alex Scott this summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea also circling the highly-rated 22-year-old midfielder, according to TEAMtalk.

The Player in Question

Scott made the move to the Vitality Stadium from Bristol City back in 2023 and, after a slow start, has grown into one of the most eye-catching midfielders in the Premier League. Across 39 appearances this season, he’s chipped in with five goal contributions while helping Bournemouth secure European football — no small feat for a club of their size.

Why Everyone Wants Him

It’s not just United, Arsenal, and Chelsea either. Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Man City have all been credited with interest. But TEAMtalk suggest the Red Devils are ‘most determined’ to get the deal done.

With Casemiro heading for the exit door, United desperately need midfield reinforcements. Scott fits the bill perfectly — a box-to-box operator who can also function creatively, thriving under Andoni Iraola’s double pivot system.

The Problem

Bournemouth aren’t selling without a fight. Scott is contracted until 2028, and the Cherries are even exploring a fresh extension. Should they be forced into a sale, the price tag sits at over £60 million.

United have also shortlisted Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton as alternatives, but Scott remains a top target.

Scott is the real deal — technically gifted, tactically versatile, and Premier League-proven. At £60m-plus, he won’t come cheap, but for United, Arsenal, or Chelsea, he could be the steal of the summer.
