Bazoumana Touré Transfer: Man Utd and Arsenal Monitor Newcastle Winger

Two Premier League Giants Show Interest

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly tracking Newcastle United winger Bazoumana Touré, according to Caught Offside. Both clubs registered interest before the 20-year-old’s move to St James’ Park this summer, and that admiration appears to have continued.

Why United Are Looking at Wide Options

Michael Carrick’s squad includes Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo, yet question marks remain. Rashford has struggled for consistency since returning from his Barcelona loan, while Amad has only just recovered from injury. Tottenham and Aston Villa are also said to be keeping tabs on the player.

Arsenal’s Need for Depth

The Gunners lost Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, and Christos Tzolis was their only summer arrival in that area. Mikel Arteta may therefore feel another winger is necessary to strengthen his options.

Newcastle Unlikely to Budge

Newcastle paid around £42m for the Ivory Coast international and have no intention of selling in January, with his contract running until 2031. Any suitor would likely need to pay a considerable premium.

Touré is a left-footed, technically gifted forward who can operate on either flank. He is quick, dribbles well in tight spaces, creates chances for team-mates and works hard out of possession.

Our Take

In my opinion, Arsenal appear the better fit, as their need is more pressing and Arteta’s system rewards the kind of tight-space dribbling Touré offers. United have more attacking options than their recent form suggests. Either way, Newcastle’s valuation and stance make a January deal unlikely, so a summer move looks the more realistic scenario.
