Liverpool Eye £26m Pierre Kalulu Transfer From Juventus in January
Reds Track Versatile Frenchman
Liverpool are monitoring Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu ahead of a possible January move, according to Football Insider. The 26-year-old, valued at around £26m by Transfermarkt, is understood to be on the radar as the Reds look to strengthen their back line.

Why Liverpool Need Defensive Reinforcements
Virgil van Dijk’s contract expires in the summer, Joe Gomez continues to struggle with injuries, and Jeremie Frimpong has found life at Anfield difficult so far. That combination has prompted the club to explore options at both centre-back and right-back.
Kalulu could fill either role. Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke said on the Transfer Insider podcast that the Frenchman is on Liverpool’s radar, though no move is guaranteed. He highlighted his versatility across the centre-back, right-back and right wing-back positions.
Kalulu’s Career and Output
Developed in Lyon’s academy, Kalulu never made a first-team appearance there before joining AC Milan in 2020. He went on to play over 100 games for the Rossoneri, including 28 in their 2021-22 Serie A title triumph. Stefano Pioli once called him “fantastic”.
After injuries and the arrival of Strahinja Pavlovic cut his minutes, he moved to Juventus, where he recently reached 100 appearances. This season he averages 4.00 recoveries and 3.33 duels won per game, and he has played 92 matches at right-back in his career.
Our Opinion
On paper, this looks a sensible piece of business. With five France caps and plenty of experience across the defensive line, Kalulu would give Andoni Iraola a combative, adaptable option who can cover multiple positions. At a reasonable fee, he could prove a smart addition if Liverpool decide to act in January.
