Manchester City have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.
The 21-year-old forward’s future at the Camp Nou has remained uncertain so far this season, having been in and out of the Catalan giants under manager Ernesto Valverde.
The France international missed most of his debut campaign through injury before struggling for form this season, while the club’s hierarchy are also understood to have been aware with his lack of professionalism.
According to various Bookmakers, the Premier League champions Manchester City are favourites to offer Dembele an escape route from the Camp Nou, although any deal is unlikely to happen during the ongoing transfer window.
Dembele is expected to remain with the Spanish champions this month, but should City not retain their Premier League title this season then they could revive their interest in the Frenchman at the end of the season.
