Premier League Title Race Swings Back In Manchester City’s Favour

Manchester City are back in control of their own destiny at the top of the Premier League table. A run of three successive wins has helped Pep Guardiola’s side to climb back on level terms with Liverpool in the title race – and momentum is certainly with the Blues. It would be fair to state that the pendulum has swung back in favour of City once again.

The Blues are on the verge of something special and it would be foolish to bet against the defending champions after a strong start to 2019. Manchester City are still challenging on multiple fronts and we could see Pep’s men enjoy lots of success in the coming months. Securing back-to-back Premier League titles is the top priority for City this season, but fans won’t say no to cup glory.

You don’t need to be an expert to come to the realisation that Manchester City are in pole position to retain the Premier League title. Guardiola’s side have a superior goal difference to that of their rivals and a favourable run of fixtures could give the Blues an edge in the coming months. With 11 matches remaining, there are still plenty of points to be won and lost.

Punters will be keeping an eye out for the best football bet of the day ahead of City’s next few fixtures, as there may be little value in backing them in the match result markets. Pep’s men put the Toffees to the sword, taking full advantage of their leaky defensive unit. Prior to that clash at Goodison Park, Everton had kept two clean sheets in their last 12 Premier League games.

Liverpool will need to step things up in order to keep pace with City in the business end of the campaign. Historically, Jurgen Klopp has tended to fall short on the big stage and the German could be set for another collapse this season. With just one win in seven finals, Klopp struggles under pressure and the Reds could miss out on the title if he fails to make the necessary adjustments.

Ironically, Manchester United are likely to have a huge say in the Premier League title race this season. The Red Devils will take on both teams at Old Trafford in the coming weeks and United will be determined to secure wins in both fixtures. With Manchester United still in the top four race, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will need to pick up maximum points to keep the pressure on the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.

For the time being, City fans will rest easy knowing that they have regained their spot at the top of the table. Every game is now huge for confidence and momentum in the Premier League title race – City are in the ascendency right now but it could swing back in Liverpool’s favour if the Blues take their foot off the gas. Watch this space; we could be set for a thrilling end to the 2018/19 campaign.
