Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi this summer, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca as quoted by The Sun.
The Blues could make a move to sign the 25-year-old this summer after Real Madrid pulled their interest in the striker.
The La Liga giants are no longer interested in the Argentina international, whose future has been a subject of speculation recently.
The report adds, news of Los Blancos pulling out of the race could “alert” the Premier League giants Chelsea, who are believed to be long-term admirers of the Argentine.
Icardi, whose situation is currently in doubt after he was dropped from the first team. His current deal is set to expire in 2021.
Icardi has impressed for the Italians so far this season, scoring nine times and making two assists in 20 Serie A appearances.
